This extremely picturesque village was built to accompany the manor house of the nearby Powerscourt Estate and is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding countryside as well as the magnificent Powerscourt grounds.
Enniskerry features superb cafes and shops as well as a host of picture-postcard cottages and a charming village triangle. The clock tower in the centre of the village is also a very attractive feature.
The Catholic Church circa 1843 by Patrick Byrne is one of the first gothic revival churches in Ireland. Lying in a beautiful glen of the Cookstown or Glencullen River, the wooded country around Enniskerry offers fine forest walks.

🗝️ Have you visited Wicklow's Historic Gaol yet?
This is Mary Morris, the prison Matron back in Victorian times. Mary had responsibility for
female prisoners’ medical wellbeing,
prison work and basic schooling for women and girls.
Visit her domain and enjoy the atmosphere of one of Ireland’s most historic buildings. You’ll be sure to bump into some famous faces along the way. Just be polite to the gruff Gaoler – or you might have to stay!
In addition to the jail tour, why not immerse yourself with in 'The Gates of Hell' VR experience!
