Stage 1 of the Wicklow Way: The start of this internationally renowned walk begins in the Dublins suburbs: Marlay Park. It’s not long before you leave the City behind and start the exciting climb through Kilmashogue forest as you head for Fairy Castle, you’ll pass ancient burial tombs in the forest and on the mountain top. A descent will bring you down to the road for a short section before the last climb to Prince Williams Seat with spectacular views over the coast and the mountains. Knockree Hill gives a short climb before reaching the end of Day 1.
