Three of Wicklow’s top trails were featured on Spanish national radio RNE5, Spain’s 24h news radio station. The weekly radio program ‘Caminantes’ introducing walks around Spain and beyond, dedicated three shows to the following Wicklow Trails: The Wicklow Way, The Spinc in Glendalough and the Sugarloaf Way from Bray to the Great Sugarloaf.
Initiated by Tourism Ireland and their team in Madrid, Wicklow was given this great opportunity to showcase the County as a fantastic walking destination to the Spanish market. Spain is the fifth largest market to Ireland, with 431,000 visitors in 2019 and 37% of those engaged in Hiking/Cross Country Walking.
