The 183 LocalLink bus services runs four times per day connecting South Coast of Wicklow to West Wicklow over the Wicklow Gap. The bus services the following locations: Arklow, Avoca, Rathdrum, Wicklow Town, Ashford, Roundwood, Laragh/Glendalough, Wicklow Gap, Valleymount, Blessington, Naas, Sallins (Train Station)This service is ideal to link Glendalough to walkers along the St Kevin’s Way, or linking to the Blessington Greenway

One of the best ways to travel to County Wicklow is by train. There are five trains a day that travel from Dublin’s Connolly Station on this route but this is reduced to three trains a day on the weekends. The DART connects Dublin city and its southeast suburbs to Wicklow’s coastal towns of Bray and Greystones. This train goes regularly typically every 10 minutes to and from Bray and every 30 minutes to and from Greystones. The local link provides several services throughout County Wicklow, connecting smaller towns and villages. Some are not always frequent, as some only go on specific days of the month for example the 1413a connects Ashford to Liffey Valley only travels once on the 3rd Thursday of the month but they are very useful resource for seeing areas not catered to by larger bus or train services such as Trooperstown, Donard, or Redcross.
