This is a very challenging and hilly route which goes from Rathdrum to Roundwood initially.
From here, you proceed to tackle the steep climb up to the Lough Tay viewing point en route to Sally Gap.
The route then returns down past Glenmacnass Waterfall to Laragh and back to Rathdrum with an optional short detour to Glendalough from Laragh possible
