Shillelagh village is a seventeen-century, planned estate village with appealing terrace stone houses and a handsome courthouse with clock tower.
The authentic Shillelagh Stick has it’s origins in this area and is still handcrafted locally.
Tomnafinnoge Oak Wood , between Tinahely and Shillelagh, is a large oak forest and the remnant of a great oak forest which was stripped during the 16th & 17th Centuries. Incorporating a delightful river and woodside walk, it is the oldest coppiced wood in Europe.
