Set in the heart of West Wicklow, Tinode Farmyard & Garden is a unique and inspiring destination where nature, design and history come together. Developed over many years by June Blake, the garden has evolved from a simple paddock into a remarkable three-acre contemporary space shaped by creativity and discovery.
Framed by mature trees and open meadow, the garden is laid out in a series of structured rectangular beds enclosed by traditional dry stone walls, with carefully designed paths leading the eye towards the c.1860 Steward’s House. Along the way, visitors will encounter bold herbaceous planting, ornamental grasses, woodland areas and ever-changing experimental combinations. Many features of the garden were inspired by unexpected finds beneath the soil — from historic stone walls to traces of earlier buildings — now thoughtfully woven into the design.
A linear reflecting pool, set alongside one of these original stone walls, forms a striking central feature, while newer additions bring contrast and a contemporary edge. Each area is designed as a distinct space, ensuring a visit that is rich in interest, colour and inspiration throughout the seasons.
The garden reopens from 1st May 2026 and is open Thursday to Sunday, 11am – 5pm during the season. A welcoming tearoom operates during opening months, and visitors are encouraged to follow social media for pop-up dining experiences, seasonal events and special gatherings.
Tinode Farmyard & Garden also offers a range of luxury self-catering accommodation within beautifully restored 19th-century farm buildings, including The Cow House, The Turkey House, The Harness Room, the Garden Studio and the recently restored event space, the Grinding House — each combining heritage character with modern comfort in a tranquil rural setting.
