From Baltinglass town centre you head south-east and then east towards Talbotstown.

The route then goes north to cross the N81 and reach the pleasant settlement of Stratford-on-Slaney which has rich historical significance as the site of a large cotton manufacturing facility.

From there you follow small country roads to Oldtown and then take the R747 to return to Baltinglass.
