Wicklow Tourism brings Chinese Tourism Students on a Tour of Wicklow.
Wicklow County Tourism recently organised a tour of Wicklow for Tourism Post Graduate students from the University of Hainan in China. The Students are currently in Ireland attending a two weeks tourism course at Dublin Institute of Technology. The tour is the result of the increased collaboration between the Province of Hainan and County Wicklow, following the friendship agreement signed between the two regions in 2015.
Organised by Cllr. Gerry Walsh and run by Eugene Finnegan, the tour brought the students to Bray, Greystones, the Military Road and Glendalough for a tour of the Monastic Site and the Visitor Centre. The group then went on to Wicklow’s Historic Gaol for lunch and a tour.
In 2015, County Wicklow and the Hainan Province of China agreed to forge friendship and cooperation links. Both sides agreed to make concerted efforts to promote people-to-people friendly contact and economic and trade links in the fields of forestry, science and technology, tourism and environmental protection.
