For the first time ever, the Taste of Wicklow 2019 becomes a 3-day event.
The fun-filled weekend kicks off on Friday 28th June with the showing of the family outdoor movie “The Greatest Showman”. Doors open at 9pm, with snacks, music and a full bar available with the movie starting at 10.20pm.
The fun-filled weekend continues on Saturday 29th June, with a star-studded music festival live at the Abbey from 5.30pm-10.30pm, with music by DJ and local bands, followed by the main attractions “Jameire” (Bob Marley Tribute Band) and “Promises & Lies” (UB40 Tribute Band).
On Sunday 30th June, the traditional, well-established Taste of Wicklow Food Festival takes place from 12 noon to 7pm with celebrity chefs Derry Clarke, Catherine Fulvio, Paul Kelly and a host of local chefs showcasing all the wonderful food that County Wicklow has to offer. The Taste of Wicklow has now become the biggest food festival outside of Dublin on the East Coast.
There will be over 40 food stalls with 30 craft stalls. Apart from the entry cost, all the entertainment is free of charge, with magicians, children’s games, stilt walkers etc. It is truly a day for all the family.
Last year, almost 5000 people attended the event in wonderful weather in the beautiful, historic Abbey Grounds, which is the perfect setting for this fun-filled family day.
Chairman of the festival, John Sinnott advises patrons to book early for all events, as last year at the Taste of Wicklow on Sunday, only those with pre-bought tickets could be admitted in the afternoon as a result of the capacity attendance owing to health & safety guidelines.
Tickets are available now online at www.tasteofwicklow.ie with special early bird promotions available now! Fund-raising raffle tickets will also be on sale next week in retail shops throughout the town, with a great selection of cash & other prizes and tickets bought there will give the buyers free entry to the Taste of Wicklow on Sunday.
