Just go for it!
During the summer, Yvonne and Brian undertook an exciting journey of exploration. They travelled across County Wicklow, discovering new areas and earning 16 Passport stamps along the way. We recently spoke with Yvonne to learn more about their journey!
How did you first hear about the Wicklow Passport?
We were browsing the VisitWicklow website and that’s how we came across it.
What encouraged you to take on the challenge?
We are active hillwalkers and thought it was a good idea to see other parts of Wicklow that we’ve not been to in a long time.
What was your best experience while taking part in the Wicklow Passport campaign?
We spent a fabulous weekend in Blessington. We stayed in a lovely B&B overlooking the Lakes.
We found the walk around the Lakes and the Greenway to be really nice. The weather was quite good that weekend, also.
We spent a lovely afternoon walking around the gardens of Russborough House and really enjoyed the food, too.
What experience did you enjoy the least?
Fortunately, everything was very enjoyable. We encountered no problems at all during our adventure.
Do you have any recommendations for others interested in taking on a similar adventure?
Just go for it!
In particular, we liked the Looped Walks in Tinahely.
Overall, did you enjoy the challenge?
Absolutely! We have already recommended it to family and friends.
What is your next adventure?
Our next adventure will be cycling the Waterford Greenway. We also plan to climb Croagh Patrick.
