The beautiful Druids Glen Golf Resort is situated just twenty miles south of Dublin on the East Coast of Ireland, in County Wicklow, “the Garden of Ireland”.
The two championship golf courses at Druids Glen Resort allow golfing guests to enjoy varied play over equally exhilarating landscapes. Both courses are renowned as being amongst the finest, most challenging and most enjoyable in Europe, to the extent that Druids Glen Resort was voted European Golf Resort of the Year by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) in 2005.
A previous European Golf Course of the Year winner and known as ‘The Augusta of Europe,’ the course at Druids Glen was designed by Pat Ruddy & Tom Craddock, and opened in 1995. An undulating and well-wooded parkland course, with liberally distributed water hazards, bunkers and tree-lined holes demanding driving accuracy, the length of the course and many approach shots over water make this a challenging test for golfers.
Just a year after opening, Druids Glen hosted the Irish Open for four years in a row, and has also hosted the prestigious Seve Trophy, a bi-annual event between the leading Tour Players of Britain & Ireland and continental Europe. Druids Glen is a modern classic, with manicured tree-lined fairways, historical landmarks, spectacular water features and vibrant floral displays, and where the 17th hole’s island green provides one of the most exhilarating tests in world golf.
