We are based in Ticknock Forest, a mecca for mountain biking and all things outdoors. From here, we offer bike rental, guided tours, lessons and serve barista coffee with delicious home baked goodies.
Biking.ie are #bikinginIreland, founded in 2007 by Olympic Athlete Tarja Owens and Niall Davis, now married and raising two bike mad boys!
We have a vibrant and energetic team that keep Biking.ie running on a daily basis. We are all passionate about the outdoors and want to provide exciting and memorable experiences for all our visitors.
Ticknock is nestled in the foothills of the Three Rock Mountain, just 30 minutes from the Dublin City centre. There are three large rock formations from which the mountain receives its name are the result of weathering over thousands of years. In the area, there is also a Two Rock Mountain at 536 meters above sea level and the infamous ruins of the Fairy Castle.
With spectacular views over the Capital City and Dublin Bay it’s no wonder that Ticknock is one of the most popular tourist attractions on the east coast. The trail network is a looped route that starts and finishes in the same point and is also sign posted, so no map needed. The trails are fast and fun with plenty of features to keep even the most experienced bikers on the edge of their seat! The trails in Ticknock start off on the tarmac road at the car park and climb steadily to the first of 8 single track trails which loop their way around the mountain. The total length of the trail network is 13km and it is possible to short cut, meaning you can repeat or cut out sections as you wish. The terrain is technically challenging and has some some high speed sections with plenty of technical trail features.
