‘The experience was very fun and anecdotic!’
During her stay in Wicklow, Cristina from Spain earned the title of Wicklow Ambassador by collecting an impressive number of Wicklow Passport stamps. From Carnew to Enniskerry, she explored every corner of the Garden County. We interviewed Cristina to learn more about her journey, experiences, and tips for future Wicklow Passport Ambassadors!
How did you first hear about the Wicklow Passport?
Some friends told me that they had gotten their Passports in Wicklow and so I was interested in obtaining one too!
What motivated you to take on the challenge?
I wanted a souvenir from my experience in Ireland.
I thought it would also be fun to see Co. Wicklow as I collected the stamps.
What was your favorite memory from your Wicklow Passport experience?
During a day trip visiting various places in Wicklow, some friends and I experienced each of Ireland’s four seasons!
It was lovely to see snow fall on the mountains and then minutes later be on a sunny beach.
It rained along the way but we ended up seeing a beautiful rainbow.
What advice would you give to others who are interested in participating in a similar adventure?
I recommend keeping your passport in a plastic bag to keep it from getting wet!
If you had the chance to do your Wicklow Passport adventure all over again, what would you change?
There is nothing I would change. The experience was very fun and anecdotic!
What was your overall impression of the Wicklow Passport challenge?
I think the idea is fascinating. It motivated you to travel more and see beautiful and unique places.
I found the adventure very satisfying.
When I return to my country, I will be happy to have completed it.
