February 14 - March 2

The Cinematic Thread: From Screen to Craft, Powerscourt’s 17:17 Exhibit,” a unique exhibition that highlights the creativity of local craft artisans while paying tribute to Wicklow’s rich cinematic legacy. Opening to the public on Saturday, February 15th, the exhibition will run until Sunday, March 2nd at the Entrance Hall of Powerscourt House in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.   Admission is free.

This remarkable exhibition highlights the exceptional talent of 17 craft practitioners from the Made in Wicklow platform, each of whom has created an original piece inspired by a costume from iconic films and TV series. Working in collaboration with the Irish Costume Archive Project (ICAP), these artisans have drawn inspiration from productions such as The Favourite, The Tudors, The Miracle Club, Ripper Street and Little Women. Their creations—spanning jewellery, ceramics, textiles and metalwork—will be showcased side by side with the costumes that sparked their imagination, offering a captivating interplay between the worlds of film and craft.
