Bray has been named one of the 14 most underrated travel destinations in the world by TimeOut. The leading global media brand recently released the list that includes locations such around the world in countries such as Mongolia, Mexico, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Australia, Finland, UK or Greece.
This is also great recognition for all the work that has been done in Bray over the past few years by local government, local groups and organisations and the residents. Bray has managed to keep its Victorian charm, while modernising itself with for example the enhancement of the seafront or the opening of the new Florentine centre.
Bray was the original tourism destination in Ireland when the railway was opened in the middle of the 19th Century. Bray is an ideal tourism destination between the Irish Sea and the Wicklow Mountains and boasts strong attractions such as Killruddery and Sealife both attracting thousands of visitors throughout the year.
There are plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants many of those offering flavours from all over the world brought to Bray by the extensive international communities living here.
Bray, is also a fantastic outdoors destination with trails over Bray Head connecting to the Sugarloaf and the Wicklow Way. It’s an ideal spot for watersport activities such as sea swimming, kayaking or stand up paddle boarding. There are various mountain bike trails at Belmont, there is a tree adventure park at Squirrel Scramble and the home of Ireland’s Fittest Family show at Alive Outside
