‘I thought I already knew all the best places in Wicklow, but I couldn’t have been more wrong!’
Meet our newest Wicklow Passport Ambassador, Kamil. Originally from Poland, Kamil has collected 15 stamps in the last 4 months and is already planning his next adventures around Wicklow for the Spring. We caught up with Kamil to get the low down on his Wicklow Passport Adventure so far.
Where are you from and how did you hear about the Wicklow Passport?
I’m originally from Poland, but I currently live in Dún Laoghaire. Wicklow is practically on my doorstep, so I’ve often visited some of my favorite spots in the area. I first came across the Wicklow Passport through a leaflet or poster at the Chocolate Garden of Ireland. It immediately caught my attention, so I checked out the website. The idea of exploring more of Wicklow while collecting stamps sounded like great fun, and I couldn’t resist taking part!
How many stamps did you collect and how long did it take to collect?
So far, I’ve collected 15 stamps, but I’m far from finished! I’ve been enjoying my Wicklow Passport journey for about four months now, and there are still so many places I want to visit. While some attractions are closed for the winter, I’m already planning my next adventures for spring. With so many incredible spots to choose from, the hardest part will be deciding where to go first!
What were your favourite locations and experiences in Wicklow?
The biggest surprises for me were the hotels. Collecting stamps gave me a reason to step inside places like The Glendalough Hotel and Druids Glen, and I was struck by how fascinating and inviting they were. The Hunter’s Hotel, in particular, is an absolute gem – a truly unique place full of soul and history. In every hotel I visited, I was warmly welcomed, often offered tea, and always encouraged to come back. It made each stop feel like more than just a visit – it was a genuinely personal and friendly experience.
Another unexpected discovery was Fatbike Adventures between Bray and Greystones. I must have passed it dozens of times without realizing it was there! This journey has been full of surprises, and it’s shown me there’s always something new to uncover in Wicklow.

What was your overall experience of the Wicklow Passport?
Being part of the Wicklow Passport journey has been absolutely fantastic. For me, it’s the people who truly stand out – everyone I met along the way was so warm, welcoming, and happy to chat. What’s more, they all agreed on how brilliant an initiative the Wicklow Passport is!
I love exploring Wicklow on my motorcycle, but I sometimes struggled to decide where to go before getting the passport. The Wicklow Passport gave me the perfect excuse to hit the road, roll through the county’s beautiful towns and scenic routes, and explore with purpose.
They say the journey, not the destination, matters – but with the Wicklow Passport, why not both? It’s the perfect way to enjoy the best of both worlds!
