Something Happens, The Unmusical – Saturday 4^th September at 8pm

• Irish pop-rock band Something Happens are bringing their live show to the Whale Theatre Greystones this September as part of the Whale’s newly announced 2021 disPLAYced programme.
• Legends of the late eighties Irish music scene, Something Happens were one of the Irish bands of the period who trail-blazed a commercial path across the country and beyond. While not recording anymore (singer Tom Dunne is a well-known radio presenter) they still play live to their adoring fan base. With a catalogue of hit singles at their disposal, the Something Happens! live show is an unmissable trip down memory lane.

• Meteor & Tatler Award winner Luan Parle has had numerous hits & accolades including Meteor Award for Best Irish Female. Her top 10 hit single ‘Ghost’ spent three months in the Irish Charts and was the most played Irish single of that year.

Seven Ages of MAM – Saturday 11^th September at 3pm & 8pm

• Finally touring in Ireland for the first time, Pauline O’Driscoll brings her must see show to the Whale Theatre, Greystones as part of their 2021 disPLAYced programme.
• A new, laugh-out-loud funny yet poignant one woman show starring Pauline O’Driscoll (Smalltown, The Young Offenders) in which Mam hilariously reminisces about her life as a woman, a daughter and a mother. An entertaining, thought-provoking, funny and moving exploration of the universal themes of motherhood, sexuality, grief, infidelity, ageing, equality, love, lust and loneliness.

Niamh Regan – Sunday 12^th September at 4pm

• Galway songwriter Niamh Regan released her debut album ‘Hemet’ late 2020 to critical acclaim, with The Journal of Music describing it as “a game-changing record” and the Irish Independent calling it a “bewitching album”. The album went on to be nominated for ‘Best Irish Album of the Year’ at the RTE Choice Awards, and ‘Best Album’ at the RTE Folk Awards.

Eleanor McEvoy – Thursday 16^th September at 8pm

• Singer – songwriter Eleanor McEvoy achieved star status in Ireland in 1992 when her song “A Woman’s Heart” was the title track for the A Woman’s Heart anthology album. A Woman’s Heart has since gone on to become the best-selling album in Irish history.
• Released in July 2021, Eleanor McEvoy’s album “Gimme Some Wine” was mostly written and recorded during lockdown. On this, her sixteenth album, the music is both nostalgic and contemporary. Older genres of music – music hall, post war, 50s, 60s styles are combined with fragments of Spanish, Jazz, Mexican, classical, Russian and folk music and then juxtaposed with contemporary drums, bass, or drum loops to form something that feels both entirely new and utterly familiar.

Jack Lukeman – Saturday 18^th September at 3pm & 8pm

• Jack Lukeman, AKA Jack L, one of Ireland’s most respected and best-loved performers takes to the Whale Theatre stage this September. Jack has had several platinum-selling albums year after year. His single largest show was broadcast live on national television in front of a 5,400 audience at Dublin’s Point Theatre.
• In 2017 Jack’s album, “Magic Days”, was a massive hit in Ireland with two sold-out nights at Dublin’s National Concert Hall and Vicar St. From 2017-19, Jack has been touring continually internationally with artists such as Imelda May, Jools Holland and The Proclaimers. Jack is currently recording his new album of original material for release in 2022.

The John McCormack Songbook – Sunday 19^th September at 4pm

• Acclaimed Tenor Ross Scanlon and Pianist David O’Shea bring their sell-out recital to the Whale Theatre this September. Be transported back in time with classics such as ‘I hear you calling me’, ‘Macushla’, ‘Roses of Picardy’ and many more audience favorites. Cormac Breatnach and Steve Cooney – Friday 24^th September at 8pm.

• Australian-born guitarist Steve Cooney, a long time Irish resident, won three awards in the 2020 RTÉ Folk Music Awards: The Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as the Best Traditional Folk Track prize for his version of Eleanor Plunkett, and Best Folk Album for “Ceol Ársa Cláirsí
• Cormac Breatnach’s whistle playing can be heard on over 30 albums. In recent times, he received Arts Council Funding for two unrelated Projects: “The Whistle Blower Project” and “Loco Por Lorca” Cormac also plays with the Wicklow-based baroque-music group, Sonamus.

Neil Delamere – Saturday 25^th September at 4pm & 8pm

• Hailed as one of Ireland’s foremost comedians, Neil Delamere comes to The Whale Theatre for the first time in his long-standing (get it!) career, with a combination of new material, old material and plenty of messing.
• Neil Delamere is one of the top acts working in the Irish comedy scene today, having presented Neil Delamere’s Just For Laughs, Eureka! The Big Bang Query and Republic of Telly as well as featuring on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Stand Up For The Week and Comedy Central at the Comedy Store. He is also known to audiences for his regular appearances on RTE’s The Panel and BBC’s The Blame Game.

Carole Nelson Trio: Arboreal – Sunday 26^th September at 4pm

• Carole Nelson is a long- established musician and jazz composer who’s career across many musical genres has gathered international awards and great critical acclaim. In 2015 she turned her attention to composing for jazz piano trio releasing the Carole Nelson Trio’s first album One Day in Winterin 2017. The trio’s second album, Arboreal was released early 2020 and went on to feature in UK’s All About Jazz Magazine’s best albums of the year.
