Holly and Gerry are a married couple in New York, Gerry is Irish. One Winter Gerry passes away from a brain tumour and Holly is left distraught, her family and friends have to force her to go out for her 30th birthday and the next morning the letters begin. Gerry has organised a series of letters to be delivered to Holly over the next year with pre-planned activities and trips to get her out of her comfort zone now he wasn’t with her. One of these activities is a holiday for her and her friends to visit his home town in Ireland, Enniskerry in County Wicklow, the couple first met when Holly visited Ireland during her college years and got lost in the Wicklow Mountains, while they walk together to find ‘Dun Laoghaire’ they are in fact in the beautiful village of Lacken, overlooking the Blessington lakes. The film based on the book by Cecelia Ahern was filmed throughout County Wicklow with scenes in the Wicklow Mountains National Park and in Enniskerry. Watch the trailer for the film here.
