Arklow rowing club provides opportunities to training and race in coastal rowing from its base in Arklow Town. Youth and adult participants can take part in this exciting sport as part of a team. The club hosts a race in the third week of July so come along and spectate or take part in an open day to try out the sport.

Operating year round from beside the north Pier in Wicklow town, for all ages from 10 years upwards. The club uses traditional fixed seat coastal rowing as well as Coastal /Offshore rowing, there is something for everyone in recreational or competitive rowing The clubs home regatta takes place on August Bank holiday Monday. As part of Wicklow Water Safety and Water Safety Ireland we operate mainly from our storage facility at the beach car park at Brittas Bay, we also run some courses at Greystones and Wicklow Harbour. We cater for children from the age of 8 years who can swim well and we provide opportunities for water safety, lifeguard training and for competitive surf lifeguarding. Our summer timetable of water safety and lifesaving events along the Wicklow Coast include Swim week from Monday the 1st July. Classes are 30 minutes long Monday to Friday and water safety classes start on the 8th of July. Surf lifesaving training takes place in Brittas Bay south Monday and Thursday. Wicklow town Swim week, registration takes place at Wicklow harbour 9.30 am on the Sat 22nd June Classes commence on Mon 01st July.

There really is nothing like catching that first wave! Brittas Bay Surf School is located 30 minutes from Dublin between the North and South car parks at Brittas Bay. We provide a friendly, safe and fun introduction to the exhilarating art of surfing. The combination of the Wicklow surroundings and the satisfaction of catching your first few waves ensures that you’ll have an unforgettable experience. Safety is a priority and we use soft safe ISA Approved surfboards that are easy to learn on and we keep you warm with 5/3mm Billabong wetsuits. All of our instructors are fully qualified in either a Level 1 or 2 surf coaching, or are qualified beach lifeguards. Surf lessons, kids surf camps, SUP lessons, school surf trips and tag n surf days run daily from Easter until Halloween.

Located in a purpose built clubhouse overlooking the harbour, Greystones Sailing Club is a volunteer operated club that caters for both Dinghy and Keelboat sailors. The Keelboats have up to 20 regularly racing between two classes and the dinghies have mainly RS 400s / Fevas / Lasers and GP14s all competing each week. New junior and adult members are welcome.

Poseidon Lifesaving Club is a competitive lifesaving club that has been teaching swimming and lifesaving skills to children from all over the Wicklow from the age of eight and above with varying swimming abilities. The club provides an inclusive range of opportunities to increase participation in lifesaving. Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club is a volunteer led club affiliated to a national youth agency, Crosscare. We provide up to 70 indoor and outdoor activities each year for young people aged 10 – 18 yrs, from Bray and South County Dublin. Approximately 60% of our activities are adventure sports. We operate year-round as a social outlet for members to support their personal development as well as being fun. The club operates from our premises on the seafront in Bray, year round. Arklow Maritime Museum displays information on this rich maritime history, in particular its boat building, lifeboat and fishing traditions. Exhibits include an operational model of the wheelhouse controls of a trawler. Open all year around call in to get a sense of the maritime heritage of the town.”

Wicklow Swimming Club is one of Ireland’s largest and most successful swimming clubs, with a strong focus on community and sport for all. Each Sunday during the sea swimming season the Club holds short sea sprint races for youth and longer distances up to 2.1 km for members. WSC also hosts three Open Sea Swims during the summer months in June. on the first Sunday in August and on the August Bank Holiday the Club’s ‘Masters Vartry’. The annual triathlon takes place in the small scenic town of Greystones, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. What better way to help your fitness goals by signing up for this challenge and at the same time raise funds for charity.
The event proceeds go directly to The Gavin Glynn Foundation. TGGF was setup in memory of local boy Gavin Glynn who passed away from Cancer in October 2014.
