Follow Canadian influencers produce stunning video of their three day adventure that reaches thousands on YouTube.
In September 2024, Wicklow County Council invited YouTuber Jeff Pelletier and partner Audrée Lafreniere to ‘fast pack’ the Wicklow Way over three days, covering more than 100km with some 3,500m climb. The trip was organise with the support of the Canadian Tourism Ireland’s office and Fáilte Ireland. Starting from Tinahely the first stage covered 33km and brought Jeff and Audrée to Glenmalure Lodge for overnight. The second stage was the longest with some 45km taking them to Glendalough, Lough Tay and on to Enniskerry. They finished their adventure linking back to the Sugarloaf Way, over Bray Head to the finish on Bray Promenade.
Jeff has created a thirty minutes video of their journey that is now available to the almost 130,000 followers on his YouTube Channel. Blessed with good weather over the three days, the video showcases the beauty of the diverse scenery along the Wicklow Way. After four days, the video was watched more than 39,000 times!
“It’s been a tough, but fantastic three days” says Jeff. “The diversity of sceneries, the flora and the many deer we met along the way made the journey extremely enjoyable. Add the Irish Welcome and it turned out to be a fantastic experience for Audrée and me. We hope that the video will inspire trail runners from all over the world to explore this very accessible route.”
