“It’s hard to say that we would change anything!”
Meet Rita, Justin, & Noah, Wicklow’s newest Ambassadors, who recently completed their remarkable journey during a week-long adventure in Wicklow!
Despite facing time constraints and challenging weather conditions, this triumphant trio from Malta conquered the Wicklow Passport and collected a diverse range of stamps along the way.
Delve into our interview with Wicklow’s Newest Ambassadors and learn more about their adventure with the Wicklow Passport.
How did you first hear about the Wicklow Passport?
My cousin and his partner came across the Wicklow Passport online.
They visited Wicklow for the third time recently, told us about the Wicklow Passport, and convinced us to join them.
What motivated you to take on the challenge?
We visited Wicklow mostly for trekking and thought that this would give us even more motivation to explore this lovely place!
My husband was a great motivation during the challenge, he wanted the certificate so badly that he made sure we didn’t give up!
The passports are a lovely souvenir of a great experience.
Can you share your favourite memory from your Wicklow Passport experience?
We had a great time and so it is hard to pick a favourite experience.
However, we truly enjoyed the K2Alpacas experience.
What was the most challenging part of your journey with the Wicklow Passport?
We spent just a week in Wicklow and so the time we had to collect the stamps was also a challenge.
Also, being from Malta and used to hot and sunny days, the weather was not on our side and so walking in the rain was challenging at times.
Another challenge was entering 5-star hotels in search of stamps while wearing trekking clothes and muddy shoes. Thankfully, we were always greeted with a smile!
What advice would you give to others who are interested in participating in a similar adventure?
I would definitely advise in favor of going to visit Wicklow, it is piece of Heaven on Earth.
The Passport helps you to discover Wicklow and gives you a sense of satisfaction.
In the end, we were very satisfied that we managed to collect the stamps, especially in such a short time.
If you had the chance to do your Wicklow Passport adventure all over again, what would you change?
It’s hard to say that we would change something from this passport experience as it was so much fun.
However, I would maybe add more places to the list!
What was your overall impression of the Wicklow Passport challenge?
I think the Wicklow Passport challenge is a great idea. It gives both adults and children motivation to go around Wicklow either on foot or by car.
You can learn more about the various hotels, pubs, and businesses in Wicklow thanks to this challenge.
What is your next adventure?
In summer we will be going for a relaxing cruise to the fjords of Norway.
However, this will definitely not be our last visit to Ireland or Wicklow.
