Oakwood Stables

Our family run yard is located in beautiful Redcross, Co Wicklow, we have excellent facilities including a large all weather arena, cross country fences, stabling and grazing. Oakwood stables are within easy reach of top showjumping venues, and two local hunts. We specialise in coaching children who are interested in improving their showjumping, cross country and pony club riding. Whether looking for “fun or glory” let us bring out the best in you.

Riding Holidays

We offer residential riding holidays that allow you to enjoy Hacking, Showjumping & Cross Country in the beautiful surroundings of Co Wicklow.
This is ideal for riders from 8 years old depending on experience. As well as riding at Oakwood Stables you can choose from the following activities:

– Forest Hacking
– Horse Care and Knowledge
– Guided Hill Walking
– English Language Classes
– Irish Dancing
– Heritage & Cultural Trips
– Evening Entertainment

An action packed itinerary is guaranteed including trips of historical and cultural interest in Co. Wicklow, fully supervised evening entertainment and English language classed if required. Accommodation and all are provided in our family home and children are supervised at all times.

Daily courses are also available and include show jumping, Cross Country, Flatwork, Games and Stable Management. Ideal preparation for Pony Club Tests, IPC Minimus, and SJI under 8′ and under 10′ competitions.

This course is suitable for junior, intermediate or advanced riders with or without your own pony. For those without their own pony please contact us to see if we can match you up with a suitable mount.

We also offer full competition Livery and part Livery along with pony & horse riding lessons.
