The very popular social media platform Best_Of_Ireland has recently enjoyed an extensive four day tour around Wicklow. The journey included some of Wicklow’s top attractions and activities as well as some delicious Wicklow food and great places to stay. The team brought along the Wicklow Passport and over the four days, they collected 20 stamps to become official Wicklow Ambassadors.

Day One: Wicklow Mountains
Best_Of_Ireland tour started in Enniskerry where they collected the Wicklow Passports at Poppy’s Café. After a quick stamp at the village store, they went to Ballinastoe Mountaign Bike Trail to collect very impressive e-bikes from bikinig.ie. Next up we had lunch at the Wicklow Heather and of course collected one more stamp. We then went to K2 Alpaca and after then finished the day in Bray, checking in at the Martello, and then ended up at the Harbour Bar to enjoy their famous Fish spice box.
Day 1 Wicklow Stamps Collected:
- Enniskerry, Roundwood, Laragh/Glendalough, Newtownmountkennedy and Bray
Day Two: Wicklow Coast
Day 2: Today started with a sauna session with FadSaoil Sauna in Greystones which included a swim in the Irish Sea. After that, they went to the Wicklow Gaol in Wicklow Town. The tour offers a very interesting audio visual experience that tells the stories of the man women and children were imprisoned there. Lunch was then at Mount Usher Café in Ashford which serves the delicious seasonal menu, with views over the beautiful Mounty Usher Gardens. The day ended in Avondale, Beyond The Trees with a walk along the tree top and a guided tour of the Historic Home. Night and dinner was at Woodenbridge Hotel in Avoca.
Day 2 Stamps Collected
- Greystones, Wicklow Town, Ashford, Rathdrum, Avoca
Day Three: South Wicklow
Day 3: Today started at Victorian Tea Times in Arklow which create a stunning salute to all things Victorian. Next stop was at the Wicklow Brewery in Redcross to experience the local crafted brew and a great lunch. Finally they headed up to Shillelagh to discover the secret behind the famous walking and fighting stick. The day ended at Tulfarris Resort in Hollywood to spend the night.
Day 3 Stamps Collected:
- Arklow, Redcross/Brittas Bay, Shillelagh, Hollywood
Day Four: West Wicklow
Day 4 started off with a visit to Russborough House, a beautiful Georgian house in the heart of the panoramic West Wicklow landscape. The tour at Russborough showcased many of the treasures collected and preserved for centuries there, including the world’s famous Beit collection. Next stop was at the National Bird Centre where they got to hold some of the owls. Lunch was Grangecon Kitchen, a lovely hidden gem in West Wicklow. Further stops included a visit to Cistercian Baltinglass Abbey and the bronze aged Stone circle at Pipers Stone. The final overnight was at the Woodenbridge Hotel.

- Blessington, Dunlavin, Baltinglass, Donard
“The entire team had a fantastic time exploring Wicklow over the four days” says John Aherne, Co-Founder at Best_of_Ireland. “We collected 20 stamps for our Wicklow Passports and thoroughly enjoyed every single location we stopped by. We had no idea Wicklow had so much to offer, and the variety of things to do, made each day super fun. There still are a few stamps we haven’t collected, so we will be back very soon to get them all!”
