The Head, Heart and Hands showcase is a vibrant celebration of our county’s exceptional craft talent. This remarkable exhibition highlights the exceptional talent of Wicklow’s craft practitioners, each of whom has created an original piece inspired by a costume from iconic film and television productions. Working in collaboration with the Irish Costume Archive Project (ICAP), artisans have drawn inspiration from a new selection of world-class titles including In the Name of the Father, The Tudors, Breakfast at Pluto, Poor Things, and Normal People. Their creations—spanning jewellery, ceramics, textiles, and metalwork—will be showcased side-by-side with the original costumes that sparked their imagination, offering a captivating interplay between the worlds of screen heritage and contemporary craft.

As part of the Made in Wicklow presents: For the Love of Creativity – a month at Powerscourt programme, join Wicklow Arts Officer Jenny Sherwin for an engaging morning of conversation dedicated to the spirit of artistic collaboration. Jenny will be joined by Cllr. Peir Leonard of the Arklow ‘402 Art Collective’ and Míde Ní Shúilleabháin from the ‘Wicklow Hills Arts Collective’ to explore how collective practice, shared resources, and regular artist gatherings can strengthen the local creative community.

As part of the Made in Wicklow presents: For the Love of Creativity – a month at Powerscourt programme, families are invited to join the Shaking Bog for a flavour of its successful 2025 Riverscapes project I Wonder, an outdoor nature immersive event for children between 8 – 12 years and their parents. Led by the children’s natural sense of wonder and curiosity, this fascinating exploration of patterns within the winter landscape of Powerscourt gardens will be facilitated by artists and Forest School Leaders, Liz McMahon and Caroline Byrne.

The Exhibition: Wearable Art In this stunning solo showcase, Claire Garvey presents 15 bespoke, hand-crafted, and hand-beaded pieces of wearable art. Each garment is a standalone masterpiece inspired by one of Claire’s ten favorite paintings, with influences ranging from the bold strokes of Van Gogh and Miro to the intricate worlds of Botticelli and Giger. Witness where fine art meets high fashion in this immersive display of texture and color.
