EcoTrail Wicklow cemented its reputation as Ireland’s premier trail running event this weekend, with over 1,550 finishers across five distances, making it the largest trail running event ever held in the country.
On Saturday, September 27th, more than 1,500 athletes descended on Bray, County Wicklow, to take on the spectacular trails of the Garden of Ireland.
Runners represented from all 32 counties of Ireland, highlighting the nationwide appeal of the event.
Athletes from 50 different nationalities took part, showcasing EcoTrail Wicklow’s growing international profile.
Participants ranged in age from 17 to 79 years old, underlining EcoTrail Wicklow’s inclusive nature, welcoming everyone from elite athletes chasing podiums to first-time trail runners embracing the adventure. With distances designed to suit all abilities, EcoTrail Wicklow continues to open the world of trail running to a diverse community.
EcoTrail Wicklow is proudly supported by Fáilte Ireland and Wicklow County Council, with Wicklow Wolf and Nobo as official event partners. Both Irish brands share EcoTrail’s vision for sustainability and clean, eco-friendly products, making them natural collaborators for an event that celebrates running in harmony with nature.
