Delgany team beat Balmoral Team to hold the Ryder Cup 8 Celebration Trophy for 2 years when it will again be played for in Balmoral.
Delgany Golf Club, Co Wicklow and Balmoral Golf Club, Belfast are the only two clubs in the world who can claim a direct link to four Ryder Cup players. To celebrate this unique association both clubs held a joint celebration of their eight players on Friday 21st September 2018 the week before the Ryder Cup in Paris.
The Delgany Ryder Cup players are Harry Bradshaw, Jimmy Martin, John O’Leary, Eamonn Darcy and the Balmoral players are Fred Daly M.B.E., David Feherty, Norman Drew, Eddie Polland.
The Captain of Delgany G.C 2018 is Jason Bradshaw a grand nephew of Harry Bradshaw and an appropriate Captain for this special celebration.
The event was held in Delgany Golf Club on Friday 21st September 2018 with the following results:
