Once used by miners to reach the mines high above the valley floor this zigzag track starts in the Ballinafunshoge carpark. The narrow path leads you through pleasant Scots Pine forest, as you climb higher and higher the views over the valley open out below. Looking across the valley you’ll see Lugnaquilla, Wicklow’s highest mountain. This trail ends where you join the Wicklow Way. You can follow this to the right and downhill to reach the Glenmalure Lodge or turn left to walk higher and eventually drop into the Glendalough Valley
