Bread & Weather is a candle and soap studio just outside Newcastle.
Owned and run by Ella Kennedy, Bread & Weather was started as a pandemic project in 2020 and has gained a devoted following since then.
Ella hand pours soy candles and makes soaps in the traditional cold-process method.
Bread & Weather is currently a craft studio with the option for pre-arranged visits or order collection. This means it does not operate as a store with fixed opening hours.
To visit Ella’s studio, contact ella@breadandweather.ie, or use the contact form on www.breadandweather.ie to arrange a time to call in. There is also a ‘collect at studio’ option at checkout on the website.
Based in the family smallholding, surrounded by mature gardens and paddocks, this small craft studio is well worth a visit.
The highlight of Bread & Weather’s wonderful products is they are free from all synthetic fragrence and perfume.
Scents such as ‘Geranium Vetiver’, ‘Lemongrass Laurel’ and ‘Rosewood Lavender’ are made using high quality essential oils. Each candle is made with a blend of five or more therapeutic essential oils derived from flowers, trees, grasses, herbs and spices.
Bread & Weather soaps are made using organic rapeseesd oil, supporting farms rich in biodiversity. As well as being friendly to bees, this organic oil is highly nourishing to skin. Combined with the naturally high glycerine content of handmade soap, these soaps are wonderfully moisturising and gentle to skin.
All Bread & Weather products are made and packaged without plastic – using compostable or easily recyclable materials.
