SUMMARY:Rhododendron Week @ National Botanic Gardens\, Kilmacurragh
DESCRIPTION:Rhododendron Week is back at Kilmacurragh from the 8th to the 14th of April 2024. \nRhododendron week is an annual event in the calendar at the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland\, Kilmacurragh\, Co Wicklow. Kilmacurragh will showcase the highlights of the collection and explore the stories behind them. This year there are a series of events happening throughout the week. \nProgramme of events:\nA series of video stories on “Historic and Plant Highlights” will be uploaded to the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland social media accounts and YouTube channel during the week. \n_______________________________________________________________ \nDaily: \nThe gardens are open daily from 09:00 to 17:00. There will be ‘Rhododendron Week’ guided tours at 12noon and 3pm. As always\, the gardens are free to enter as are the guided tours. \n_______________________________________________________________ \nThursday 11th April 2024 at 7:30pm \nHead Gardener Seamus O’Brien will give an online lecture on ‘The Moore’s of Glasnevin in collaboration with the RHS Rhododendron Camellia and Magnolia Group. This is a free event. \n_______________________________________________________________ \nFriday 12th April 2024 at 2:00pm \nA walking tour will take place with Seamus O’Brien\, Head Gardener at the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland\, Kilmacurragh. This walk is entitled\, ‘The rejuvenation of the historic rhododendron collection at Kilmacurragh’. Bookings for this event will be on Eventbrite only and places will be limited.
