This live record followed Hannigan’s critically acclaimed third full-length studio album\, ‘At Swim’ produced by Aaron Dessner.\nThis performance is supported by The Department of Tourism\, Culture\, Arts\, Gaeltacht\, Sport and Media through the Live Performance Support Scheme.\nTickets priced at €35 are available at whaletheatre.ie\n\nThe Emma Langford Trio – Friday 20th August at 8pm.\n \n\nSweet and sardonic in equal measures\, Emma Langford is a songwriters’ songwriter. Creating work that fuses trad\, folk\, and jazz; her writing and performance are a celebration of this nation’s tradition of storytelling.\nNever one to shy from hard work\, Langford made the bold but rewarding move of releasing an album at the height of a pandemic – ‘Sowing Acorns’ landed in September 2020 and received huge international praise. Having bided her time long enough now\, she can’t wait to share the album live on stage in 2021 before her beloved audience – heckling and singing along are welcomed\, nay encouraged.\nThis performance is supported by The Department of Tourism\, Culture\, Arts\, Gaeltacht\, Sport and Media through the Live Performance Support Scheme.\nTickets priced at €25 are available at whaletheatre.ie\n\nThe 4 of Us – Saturday 21st August at 8pm\n \n\nThe Murphy brothers will be performing on the Whale Theatre stage on Saturday the 21st of August as part of the Whale’s newly launched disPLAYced 2021 programme.\nThe 4 Of Us shot to early fame towards the end of 1989 with their debut Songs for the Tempted\, which featured the massive hits Mary and Drag My Bad Name Down. The follow up Man Alive made Q magazine’s prestigious Top 50 Albums of 1992 and included the UK Top 30 song She Hits Me.\nThis performance is supported by The Department of Tourism\, Culture\, Arts\, Gaeltacht\, Sport and Media through the Live Performance Support Scheme.\nTickets priced at €25 are available now at whaletheatre.ie\n\nPaddy Casey – Friday 27th August at 8pm\n \n\nCelebrating the success of his fifth album\, The Secret Life Of\, Paddy Casey has come a long way from a childhood love of music that would bring him to tears…Having gotten his first guitar at the age of 12\, it was clear long before that fateful day that young Dubliner Paddy Casey had soul.\nNow with five albums to his credit – including this year’s The Secret Life Of – Casey has established himself as one of Ireland’s more interesting singer/songwriters. However\, there are no birds singing\, no leaves rustling\, and no animals scurrying around its trunk.\nPresented by Ceol Connected\, this delightful show is packed with mesmerising music and singalong songs. Children and their adults are invited on an adventure through the forest where they will explore musical soundscapes\, sing\, dance\, and help Ornaith the owl\, Sorley the snail\, and Faolán the frog bring the little oak tree to life through music.\nPerformed by Ceol Connected’s Thomas Johnston (whistles and song) and Samantha Harvey (keys).
