Channel 5 TV show Celebrity Ghost Hunt is back and last week the team visited one of Ireland's most haunted places, Wicklow's Historic Gaol!
The celebs, including TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal and Blue singer Simon Webbe, got the fright of their lives when a lamp exploded while filming!
Wicklow Gaol is a former prison which operated in the 18th Century, and is known for the long history of suffering associated with it. It reopened as a visitor experience in 1998, claiming to be one of the world's most haunted buildings.
Due to the dry weather this summer, the Poulaphuca Reservoir, near Blessington, has receded enough to reveal ruins of a homestead and farm machinery, on a raised patch of ground.
In the 1930's and 40's the valley was flooded to create the reservoir at Poulaphuca. The name comes from the Irish ‘Poll na Phúca’ meaning ‘The Ghost’s Hole’, after a small village on the edge of the reservoir.
In creating the reservoir, a number of villages were submerged, probably including this latest discovery.
