Did You Know?... Constructed between 1862 and 1868, Lower Vartry Reservoir was born from a valley-crossing dam, followed by the completion of the Upper Reservoir's dam in 1923. Both dams, boasting earthen embankments and stone facings to deter wave erosion, offer additional storage and scenic charm.

🌳 Woodland Trail:
Embark on this delightful path tracing a short, steep-sided route between Upper and Lower Vartry Reservoirs, enveloped by century-old Scots Pine trees. Keep an eye out for the majestic Great Crested Grebes nesting on floating platforms, adding an extra touch of excitement to your journey.
